Arenas done for the season

Gilbert Arenas and teammate Javaris Crittenton is suspended for the rest of the season by NBA commissioner David Stern.

According to Chris Sheridan from ESPN, if Gilbert received extensive jail time from the guilty plead a few weeks ago, the Wizards will have grounds to void the remaining of his contract. Sheridan also said that if Gilbert receives lighter sentence, the Wizards can try to void his contract or to trade him but it would be difficult since Gilbert has 4 years plus the tremendous amount that ties with it.

If Gilbert is traded, what team do you think he might land? Could there be a swap between Golden State and Washington? Monta Ellis for Gilbert Arenas? Maybe throw in Brendon Wright or Anthony Randolph? I hope he comes back to the Bay Area.

Fisher Talks Arenas/Crittenton Situation

According to the Washington Post, Derek Fisher, Player's Union President says that the union had been keeping a close eye on the situation with Gilbert and Javaris. Fisher explains that the union is concern about the "indefinite suspension" that David Stern had imposed a few weeks ago. Fisher also stated that the union is "taking the wait and see approach" with Arenas.

If you ask me, I think is crazy that Crittenton only received a year of unsupervised probation and Gilbert is facing a larger punishment. Maybe one loaded gun is not as big as having 4 unloaded guns in the locker room? Maybe Gilbert's guns were a little bigger than Javaris's?

Fisher finally said that there is nothing the player's union can do at this time until the sentencing or the NBA make a formal statement.

I guess we will have to wait to see what will happen to Gilbert's suspension and sentencing. Let's pray that he will not have to do any jail time.

Let's take a minute and remember

I just want to take a minute and go back a couple years back to look at a collection of shoes that Gilbert had with Adidas. In this Adidas TS Lightswitch collection, there were a total of 20 shoes with different color combination and theme. Here is the collection, what is your favorite pair?

Arenas will soon learn his fate

According to NBC Sports, Gilbert will learn from NBA commissioner David Stern how long his "indefinite" suspension will be by the end of the week. It is unknown at this point if the Wizards are still looking to void Gilbert's contract. And in regards to the other player that was involved, Javaris Crittenton, he will also have closure next week.

The D.A. have indicated that they will not seek more than six months in jail but the judge can order the star player anywhere between probation to the maximum term of five years in jail.

At least Gilbert can relax after next week when he finds out what his punishment is from the God of Basketball. After that, Gilbert will have time to prepare mentally for his return and also prepare himself for the worst case scenario when March 26th rolls around.

Until then, let's go back to Gilbert's earlier years when he was with Golden State.

No Magic for Gilbert!!!!!

According to multiple sources that the Magic is not interested in Gilbert at the moment. Otis Smith, GM for the Orlando Magic who is also the brain for the Warriors organization during the first year of Gilbert's career at Golden State said in a statement that he loves Gil but he has not given too much thought on acquiring Arenas from the Wizards.

Well, this statement is clear so the Wizards will have to find other options if they want to cut ties with Arenas soon. The trading deadline is Feb 18th, a little less than a month but also a month before Arenas sentencing. Personally, I hope the Warriors can package some of their young guards and get Arenas back.

Let's all pray for him to be ok when all this is over and done.
Keep your head up Gil!!!

Wizards voiding Gilbert's contract

According to many sources within the NBA community and sports world that the Wizards will indeed try to void Gilbert's remaining contract of 4 years worth about $80mil. The Wizards will do this by invoking the morals clause in the uniform player contract under the league's collective bargaining agreement.

This Wizards organization had also made themselves a distance from Gilbert by removing all Gilbert related materials such as poster, jerseys and other merchandise away from the Verizon Center.

This is very disappointing that the Wizards are not standing behind Gilbert behind this ordeal. I thought they would be right behind him since he had done so much for the organization such as bringing back a franchise that had under .500 record until Gilbert arrived from Golden State.

Let's hope that Gil comes back soon and possibly with another team so he can keep doing what he loves to do which is to play basketball.

Support Gilbert!!!

As you all know, Gilbert is awaiting his sentencing in March. This is approximately two months away and I don't think he will be playing any time before that sentencing day. Let's pray that Gilbert only gets probation instead of going to jail.

What do you guys think of Gil playing in New York or going to a reunion with EJ in Philly?

I think going to NY is great under D'Antoni with the fastbreak offense and we all know that Gil can run the floor. Going to Philly is also a plus because Gil already knows Ej's offense.

I also hope that he comes back to the Warriors in the West Coast because Don Nelson loves him and him and Monta running the back court will be phenomenal.

What? ADIDAS dropped Gilbert Arenas??

Adidas........Why??? I thought you would show more support than this......

Adidas dropped Gilbert as their main endorser on Friday at the same time that he pleaded guilty to gun possession.

I guess when a big company drops you, you have no choice but I know someone will pick Gilbert up right away. I would like to see not Nike, but Li-Ning, a Chinese shoes and clothing company that has Baron Davis, Shane Battier, Damon Jones and Shaq. I am sure they can make a low top shoe that fits Gilbert.

Free Gilbert NOW!

Free Gilbert Now!!!

Welcome to my blog everyone. This is a new thing to me but I would like to use this opportunity to express my feelings and gather everyone's opinions as well.

For those who have no idea what I am talking about and have little knowledge, here is a small insight of the story surrounding the Great PG Gilbert Arenas.

According to many posts, the incident started on Dec 21st(3 days after watching him return to play the Warriors) which he admitted to have stored guns in his locker and took them out to play a joke on a teammate. On Janurary 6th, 2010, NBA commissioner suspended Gilbert indefinitely until further investigation. Gilbert also pleaded guilty to single count of the city's strict gun laws as part of a plead bargain in D.C. and he will be sentence in March.

So that was a brief description of what is going on.

True or not about the stories that are flowing out there right now, the NBA and the Wizards should give Gilbert a second chance. Everyone has made mistakes in their lives because no one is perfect. Example: Stephen Jackson had the famous brawl in Detroit, shooting guns outside of a strip club. Chris Andersen had drug problems. Both of these players had issues but they were given second and third chances in life and also as players in the NBA.

There are also speculations that the Wizards will try to void his contract which has 4 years left with about $80 million. I am not sure how this will play out with the relationship Gilbert has with the Wizards family but I sure hope that he gets back into playing with which ever team he might end up with. I also believe that no one should have something they love taken away from them if they did not harm anyone. In this case, it was merely a mistake and a joke went too far. The guns were not loaded, believe the guy when he says he wants to get rid of the guns for his children sake.

Gilbert is a genuine nice guy. I am not saying this because I know him personally, but I did have a few encounters with him during the first two seasons of his NBA career when he was with the Warriors. (Come back to the Warriors!!!) Gilbert is a good person by nature, he is a family man first, a hard worker that everyone knows.

What do you think the Wizards should do with Gilbert?

What team do you think Gilbert would fit in best besides the Wizards?
